What personal data IT42 collects, why we use it and what rights you have.

Last updated 23 October 2026 2 min read

This is a proof of concept: do not enter real personal data. Everything in {{ }} is a placeholder.

This page explains how IT42 handles your personal data. It covers it42.vr, where you find open calls, keep your researcher profile and send applications.

Who is responsible

{{Name of the organization that runs IT42}} is responsible for your personal data on IT42 (the data controller). Funders who publish grants on IT42 are responsible for the applications sent to them.

Questions about your data? Contact our data protection officer at {{email address}}.

What we collect

Data Examples Where it comes from
Identity Name, email address, identifier Sweden Connect sign-in
Profile Your details and CV entries You, or your ORCID record
Documents The PDFs you upload You
Applications Your answers, attachments, status updates and the funder's questions You and the funder

Why we use it

  • To let you sign in and use IT42.
  • To send your application to the funder you apply to.
  • To show you where each application is.
  • To keep IT42 secure and fix problems.

We never sell your data or use it for advertising.

Who can see your data

  • Your profile and documents are visible only to you.
  • The funder sees the applications sent to its grants, and only those. Its staff and the reviewers it seats on a panel work on its own site.
  • Your organization sees the applications that name it, to sign them off.
  • Reviewer names and scores stay with the funder and are never shown on it42.vr.

it42.vr, each funder and the organization site have their own database. They exchange data only as messages about a specific application, so a funder never sees your profile or your applications to other funders.

How long we keep it

We keep your account data for as long as you have an account. We keep applications for {{number}} years after the decision, as required by {{law or funder rule}}. After that, we delete them.

Your rights

You have the right to:

  • See the data we have about you.
  • Correct data that is wrong. You can change your profile entries and documents at any time.
  • Ask us to delete your data.
  • Ask us to limit how we use your data.
  • Get your data in a format you can take elsewhere.
  • Object to how we use your data.

To use your rights, contact us at {{email address}}. We answer within one month.
