IT42 brings research funding into one system. Researchers find open calls and apply. Reviewers score applications. Funders publish grants and make decisions. Organizations sign off on the projects they host. Everyone sees the same application move from first draft to final decision.
Why we built it
Applying for funding often means a different portal, form and login for every funder. Researchers spend time copying the same information into new systems instead of on their research. Funders and reviewers deal with the same problem from the other side.
IT42 gives every funder the same process and every applicant one place to keep their work.
Who uses IT42
| Role | What they do | Where they work |
|---|---|---|
| Applicant | Finds open calls, writes and sends applications | Applicant board on it42.vr |
| Reviewer | Scores applications as part of a review panel | The funder's review site |
| Granter | Publishes grants and decides who gets funding | The funder's own site |
| Organization | Signs off on the projects it hosts and manages the money | The organization site |
An organization is a university or a research institute; private companies come later. One person can have more than one role, for example both applicant and reviewer.
What we believe
- Clear: Plain language, short sentences, one idea at a time.
- Fair: The same rules for everyone, and clear reasons for every decision.
- Open: You can always see where your application is and what happens next.
- Calm: Helpful, never pushy. Dates and facts, not pressure.
